What’s the occasion?

Liverpool host AC Milan at Anfield for the 3rd time in Champions League history, with a fierce competitve rivalry between the two sides. It comes as the first game of Group B for the two teams that were drawn into the group of death, alongside Athletico Madrid and Porto. Two good teams will be eliminated.

Liverpool will be looking to start the group strong with 3 points, and to seek revenge for the Champions League Final defeat in 2007. AC Milan have admittedly said they will never forget the dramatic comeback from Liverpool in 2005 which saw the lose the Champions League Final after leading 3-0 at half time. This means more that just 3 points, both teams want to get up on their opponent.

Where can I watch the game?

In the UK, the game will be available on BT Sport 2 with live coverage starting at 7pm GBT time; Kickoff at 8pm.

If you live in the US, the game can be watched on Paramount+, TUDNxtra or futboTV if you prefer to watch in Spanish. Kickoff is 3pm ET.

Predicted Line-ups

Liverpool

The hosts will most likely start in a 4-3-3 formation to attack Milan from the go. The predicted line-up is Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Konate, Tsimikas; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Mane.

Roberto Firmino, Harvey Elliott and Takumi Minamino are set to miss the class through injury; Hamstring, ankle and thigh respectively.

AC Milan

Milan are most likely to start in a 4-2-3-1 formation this evening. The most likely line-up is Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Kessie, Tonali; Florenzi, Diaz, Leao; Rebic.

The noticeable change from AC Milan’s line-up is the exclusion of their star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is suffering from some problems due to his previous Achilles tendon injury.

Score Prediction

Considering the great form of Liverpool, the home advantage and the strong predicted line-up, I predict a 2-0 win for Liverpool.

Jota and Mane to be the scorers.
